Chinese Delegation
On the 28th of June Dr. Cheng Jinpei, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of the People's Republic of China visited JET accompanied by high representatives from the People's Republic of China government and embassy in London.
After a welcome from Francesco Romanelli, EFDA Associate Leader for JET, and Paul Tuinder, European Commission, the visitors were given an introduction to fusion research and JET with a presentation on the UK's strategy and plans towards its fusion research programme and ITER. This was followed by an exchange of ideas on current developments and collaborations. The second part of the visit consisted of a tour of the JET facilities including the Torus Hall.
Dr. Cheng Jinpei emphasized the importance of international collaborations in large research projects such as JET and ITER.
