Jan Mlynar leaves JET

After four years at the EFDA Close Support Unit in Culham, Jan Mlynar, responsible officer for Web and Public Relations, is now returning to the Institute of Plasma Physics (Czech Republic). During his leaving presentation Jan Mlynar emphasised his enthusiasm towards JET:

"When I started to be deeply interested in fusion in the 1980’s, JET was to me just a very remote legend. I would have never believed there would be a chance to actually work here. However the last four years that I spent at JET have not really altered my vision of JET as a legend. It is a great place to get concentrated on a particular project, and it is an equally great place to meet many dedicated experts, too. Actually, I think it is a good thing that we are being sent here on a temporary basis - that we have to return to our home laboratories after a few years, however painful it may be personally. It is important to share such an experience."

Amongst many other things, between 2003 and 2007 Jan authored many of the articles on this website, including the "Focus On" series of technical articles.
