JET Implementing Agreement
"The objective of the JET Implementing Agreement is to enable the collective use of the JET Facilities by the EFDA Parties beyond 1999."
The signatories are identical to those of EFDA. The EFDA Associate Leader for JET has the overall responsibility for the implementation of this Agreement and is responsible to the EFDA Steering Committee for the execution of the JET Workprogramme. The agreement is renewed periodically.
The JIA provides a framework under which
-
the JET scientific programme is fully integrated with the fusion activities of the Associates and with the EU participation in ITER
-
the scientific and technical responsibilities are distributed among the Associates who become the main actors of the JET Workprogramme
-
the Associates work in a co-ordinated way on scientific activities which are strongly focused towards the "Next Step" (ITER)
